Affordable Housing | PV | Oakland, CA
Sun Light & Power is proud to have delivered a combined solar electric and thermal energy system for Ancora Place, a SAHA Homes property providing affordable housing in Oakland, California. The 76.95 kW photovoltaic system features 155 ET Solar modules and two SolarEdge SE43.2KUS inverters, generating an estimated 111,577 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of solar electricity annually. Complementing this is a solar thermal system with 24 Heliodyne Gobi collectors and a Hanson storage tank, which helps reduce natural gas consumption for water heating.
Using EPA emissions data, the solar systems at Ancora Place are expected to prevent around 62 short tons of carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions every year (tCO₂e/a). That’s the equivalent of removing 13.1 cars from the road or avoiding 143,308 miles of driving. It also offsets the burning of 6,332 gallons of gasoline, roughly three-quarters of a tanker truck (0.745).
Ancora Place offers supportive and affordable housing for families and individuals with special needs, contributing to a more equitable and resilient community. Sun Light & Power is honored to help SAHA integrate clean energy into their developments, advancing both environmental responsibility and housing justice.
