Sun Light & Power is thrilled to have completed a 135 kW solar photovoltaic installation for the First Pres Church of Berkeley, a congregation deeply rooted in community and stewardship. The system includes 250 Boviet solar modules paired with a powerful SolarEdge SE120KUS inverter, delivering an estimated 211,079 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of renewable electricity each year, helping the church significantly reduce its environmental footprint.
According to EPA estimates, this solar system will offset roughly 117 short tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually (tCO₂e/a). That’s equivalent to the emissions produced by 24.8 typical gas-powered vehicles traveling a combined 271,107 miles. In fuel terms, it’s like avoiding the combustion of 11,979 gallons of gasoline - enough to fill about 1.4 tanker trucks.
First Presbyterian Church of Berkeley is committed to sustainability as a core expression of faith and care for creation. Sun Light & Power is proud to support that commitment through a solar solution that aligns with both environmental and spiritual values, bringing clean energy to a place where community and purpose come together.
